  5. Going live Your site goes online, in your name. YouThe developer

    You do

    • Buy your domain, in your name and with your email. It’s paid separately (below).
    • Create your free Cloudflare account with your email, turn on two-step security (a code on your phone) and save your recovery codes.
    • Do the clicks with the developer on a video call, or invite them to your account and remove them when done. You never share your password.

    Your package includes

    • Your site published, with the padlock (https).
    • A check together: it opens well on your phone, and a mistyped address shows a notice page.
    • Your site stays online even if you don’t sign up for maintenance.

    How free hosting works

    Hosting is the place on the internet where your site lives, like the shop where you serve customers. We use Cloudflare Pages, which has a free plan. The account is yours, not ours: if one day you want to change provider or designer, you take your files and carry on.

    The domain is separate: it’s your site’s name. You pay for it every year to whoever sells it to you, not to us.

    Reference prices: they change depending on where you buy. Turn on automatic renewal and use an email you check, so you don’t lose your domain. Connecting it can take a few hours.
